Super Seeds and Hanging Gardens

The smallest ones are like dust. The largest ones are heavy to lift. Some are soft as clouds. Some are as prickly as a cactus or sticky as glue. Come find out what makes seeds so amazing. We'll play with lots of different seeds, sample some fruits as we examine their seeds, and plant some of our own in a 'hanging baggie garden' to take home. (Berries and tree nuts will be used)

Big Hawk, Little Hawk

Come and meet two live raptors at Audubon - a Red-tailed Hawk and an American Kestrel - the largest and the smallest hawks that are found in Rhode Island. Learn about the lives of these amazing birds and touch preserved feathers, wings and talons.

You may know that frogs and ducks and turtles live near ponds, but have you ever looked for the small creatures that live in the mud and skate across the water surface? Come along on this search for ALL the life of a pond. Using nets and magnifiers, we will check out pond plants and animals that often elude the naked eye. Come dressed for mud and wet. This program is designed for adults and children alike.
