Volunteers Needed for Audubon Holiday Events

Come join the Holiday fun!

  • Assist in Santa's village where there will be seasonal crafts and activities available! Guests will have their child's picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Help guests pick a freshly cut tree from a local Rhode Island farm and get it to their car (no experience required). This is the perfect opportunity for a corporate group or group of friends!

    Audubon Nature Center and Aquarium, 1401 Hope Street, Bristol, RI; December 1, 2018; 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Shifts are flexible.

  • Local vendors will be selling a variety of nature and wildlife related wares at our annual Holiday Craft Fair. Volunteers will dress as a friendly costumed animal character and help greet guests as they arrive or attract passersby into the event. The event runs 10 am – 4 pm, but shifts can be flexible. Snacks will be included included!

    Powder Mill Ledges Wildlife Refuge, 12 Sanderson Road, Smithfield, RI; December 1, 2018; 10:00 am-4:00 pm. Shifts are flexible.

Give Back in July with the Stop & Shop Community Bag Program!

Have you heard the news? Audubon Society of Rhode Island has been selected as the beneficiary of the Stop & Shop Community Bag Program! Each time the $2.50 reusable Community Bag is purchased at the Stop & Shop at 446 Putnam Pike, Greenville RI during the month of July 2024 we will receive a $1 donation.

On June 14, 1972– 52 years ago today– the Environmental Protection Agency issued the final order banning all DDT products. Audubon Society of Rhode Island helped advocate for this ban: and our fight against dangerous pesticides continues today.

In May and June, turtles and other wildlife will set out to find suitable nesting sites to lay their eggs. Eggs hatch in August in September. For many, they'll need to cross busy roads to access their habitats and nesting sites. Learn tips on how to help them cross, and about the other threats they face.
